A MID is when any special assessment bond financing district approved by the City pursuant to the Municipal Improvement Act of 1999, codified as Chapter 37. Title of the Code of Laws of South Carolina 1976, as amended, which includes part or all the Property, revenues from which are to be used for public infrastructure or other lawful purposes serving the Property.

The City of Myrtle Beach has established a Municipal Improvement District (MID) pursuant to the Municipal Improvement Act of 1999, codified as Chapter 37. Title of the Code of Laws of South Carolina 1976, as amended, which includes part or all the Property, revenues from which are to be used for public infrastructure or other lawful purposes serving the Property.

The purpose of the MID is to supplement the services provided by the City of Myrtle Beach to support the redevelopment and revitalization efforts of downtown Myrtle Beach.

The Myrtle Beach Downtown Alliance (a non-profit organization) was established to serve as the MID manager for the City of Myrtle Beach to:

1.) Support the on-going redevelopment and revitalization efforts.

2.) Serve as a resource for businesses and residents in downtown Myrtle Beach.

The MID helps to establish our vision in which at the heart of our vibrant community lies a downtown that embraces all, where everyone feels welcome, connected, and safe. We envision a place that evokes a true sense of belonging, where high quality residential living and public realm experiences converge to create an extraordinary environment.

Our mission within this development is to cultivate a distinctive downtown environment, where the lives of all who live, work, shop, and visit are enriched. We embrace our heritage, propel innovation, and celebrate diversity to create a distinct haven that thrives on inclusivity, enhances economic prosperity, and champions equitable growth.
